Cassie White PTA

Cassie was raised in the mountains of WNC, where she cultivated a love of nature and an active lifestyle. Her first exposure to the world of physical therapy occurred in high school, following knee surgery. It was unclear if she would be able to return to sport after the surgery, but she had an excellent PT who helped her recover and return to volleyball and running within a year. After completing her degree at UNC, she moved back to Asheville and worked for a women’s cancer center for 5 years. In that time at the cancer center, her interest in healing and rehabilitation grew as she learned more about the physical therapy side of the healing process for oncology patients. With sports and an active lifestyle being so important to Cassie, helping people recover from an injury seemed like the perfect career. She then went to SWCC to complete the PTA program in May 2019.

If it’s not pouring the rain, you can usually find Cassie in the woods on her mountain bike. She is an avid mountain biker who just completed a coast to coast mountain bike trip across Scotland (in the rain). Her other hobbies include running, swimming, snowboarding, horseback riding, reading, sewing, board games, and traveling.

Kelsey BucknerFront Office Manager

Kelsey was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. She was homeschooled K-12, which allowed her the time to dance competitively, as well as play basketball and travel softball for several years. She attended Southwestern Community College, where she was a member of the National Technical Honor’s Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success. She also led Southwestern’s Sonography club as vice president. She graduated in 2017 with her Associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Upon graduation, it was difficult to find a job in her degree in this area, as she loves our WNC mountains too much to leave. She began exploring alternative options that had always excited her heart, so she came to us as a PT technician to be taught another form of caring for others. She is now exploring the idea of going back to school, thanks to our clinic!

In her free time, she is a dog mom, a Dollywood fanatic, a middle school girls church leader, a coffee lover, a mountain hiker, and a singer…only in the car. Above all, she is thankful for Specialized Physical Therapy for opening a door filled with kindness and laughter.
