Dr. Jim Gregory has lived in the Asheville area for the past 7 years, with his amazing wife Ashley, after relocating from Washington State. While at Clemson University, Jim completed a BS in Animal and Veterinary Sciences and was a collegiate rugby player, which began his exposure to physical therapy. In 2008, he received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in St. Augustine, FL, specializing in manual therapy and highlighted by a clinical rotation with the Utah Jazz of the NBA.
Following graduation, Jim completed a mentorship and received his Manual Therapy Certification through The University of St. Augustine in 2009. Since that time Jim has practiced primarily in outpatient orthopedics specializing in spinal manipulation, sports medicine, pain science, and strength training. Dr. Gregory’s postgraduate training has included a heavy emphasis on spinal and extremity manipulation, strength and conditioning, and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)/ Functional Movement Screen (FMS).
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW), Certified in Functional Dry Needling through KinetaCore, and is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS) through the APTA. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Gregory serves as adjunct faculty at Western Carolina University’s DPT program and is a certified Clinical Instructor through the APTA. Outside of his professional role, Jim enjoys powerlifting, being involved in the local chapter of the North Carolina Physical Therapy Association, exploring the outdoors, and playing music with his wife.
